Kingdom Church exists to see transformed lives empowered to advance God’s Kingdom.

Our Story

When you think of a place with a rich history and a bright future, Memphis has to be one of those places that pop in your mind. History hasn’t always been so bright, and it has left a tangible sting on this city in so many ways. But the bad news is always conquered when the hope of good news comes. That good news is that God has always had a plan to transform the city of Memphis through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the local church has always been a part carrying out that plan. That’s why Kingdom Church exists!

Kingdom Church is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational, gospel-centered church in the heart of Midtown Memphis with a passion for reaching the lost and making disciples.

At the beginning of 2019, God brought together a team of people who wanted to be a part of expressing and carrying out a vision to see Memphis transformed. These people had a passion to make disciples & advance God’s Kingdom. We knew it was necessary that we gather each week to worship together but we also were aware that real impact is not made if we don’t carry Sunday mornings into our communities and cultures. We believe we are called to make a BIG impact in this city and around the world and that happens when the transforming power of the Gospel we preach leads to mission.

At Kingdom Church, the dream is to see people from all walks of life have a life-changing encounter with God that would transform their hearts and empower them to get on a mission for God. No matter where you have been in life or where you find yourself now, we are sure that you can find hope for yourself and your family at Kingdom Church.

Our Vision, Mission, Values, and Beliefs

Vision

We exist to see transformed lives empowered to advance God’s Kingdom.

Mission

To engage communities & cultures in our city with the Gospel, establish strong biblical foundations, and equip and empower believers to impact our city and the world.

Core Values

LORDSHIP

Because Jesus is “King of kings and Lord of lords,” we believe that whole-hearted submission to God’s will and his Word is the starting point of the Christian faith and the foundation of all spiritual growth. – Colossians 2:6

EVANGELISM

Because God’s heart is to reach the lost, we’re passionate about preaching the gospel and doing ministry in a way that engages people outside of the Christian faith. We seek to build churches primarily through evangelism, not transfer; through birth, not adoption. – John 3:16, Luke 19:10

DISCIPLESHIP

Because we’re called to make disciples, our primary focus is establishing biblical foundations, equipping believers to minister, and empowering disciples to make disciples—not conducting meetings, facilitating programs, or building buildings. – Matthew 28:19-20

LEADERSHIP

Because we’re called to advance God’s Kingdom, we’re committed to a culture of empowering leadership. We’re intentionally multi-generational, and we deliberately create opportunities and platforms to develop the next generation of leaders. – 2 Timothy 2:2

FAMILY

Because we believe God has called us to be a spiritual family, we embrace community, reject the idea of disposable relationships, and choose to walk in love, respect, and unity with all people no matter their ethnicity, socioeconomic status, or background. – Ephesians 2:19

Beliefs

The Bible

We believe In the Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.

Jesus

We believe In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

Man

We believe that man, created in the image of God, rebelled against His Creator and as a result incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God. We also believe all are sinners and can not be saved apart from the redeeming work of Christ.

Salvation

We believe in the salvation of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by faith apart from works, and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy life, to witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

We further believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the exercise of spiritual gifts.

Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

The Church

We believe in the unity of the spirit of all true believers—the Church, the Body of Christ.

Communion & Baptism

We believe and practice the sacraments of the historic church, that being Communion & Water Baptism.

 Marriage

We believe that God, our Creator established marriage as a sacred institution and covenant between one man and one woman.
