March 2019 Launch Update

Kingdom Church Memphis, TN March 2019 Launch Update

We are so excited to update you on all that has happened here in Memphis the last month. God has really been blowing our minds. Nothing about church planting is easy! It is a day to day faith journey of putting our confidence in God. We have been praying and believing to connect with lost people, as well as people who God would connect us with to be a part of our church plant. We are seeing the fruit of those prayers.

Kingdom Church Memphis Interest PartyOn February 17th, we hosted an Interest Party in Midtown Memphis for people in our city. This interest party was for people to come, fellowship, have some fun, and also hear more about our vision for the city. God really did do more than we could have asked. We had a great turn out. There were college students, young families, and professionals of all different backgrounds, races, and areas of our city. That is a huge part of our vision; to see people from all different walks of life fellowshipping and worshipping God together. At the end of the night, we had 40 cards of people committing to Pray, Give, or Go as a part of the church plant!

We also baptized our first person as a part of the church plant!!! Catherine Johnson (below), who has been growing in her faith through faithful discipleship with her friend, Melody Tyus (right), took a step of faith and went public with her faith through water baptism. Catherine was adamant that she was ready to take this step. They filled up a bathtub and baptized her with her husband, church family, and friends there. We have many more baptisms to come and this will be etched in our history that God is transforming lives and advancing his kingdom here in Memphis, TN!

Here’s a picture of Catherine’s Baptism!

Our annual student conference was rescheduled due to weather and will now be March 29th – 31st. Please pray that our students would encounter God that weekend. Also, we have raised $43,000 dollars of our $100,000 launch goal. Would you prayerfully consider giving to help us meet our launch goal financially? These dollars will go towards helping purchase children’s ministry needs, worship equipment, adequate signage, securing a space for worship services, and more. If you would like to give please visit, click donate, and give in the “Capital Start-Up” fund.

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and partnership as we reach Memphis!
